This tour starts the same way as tour 2, but from the Drakensberg you continue to the Clarens area, where you spend 1 night.
Travel through the Eastern Freestate and part of the Karoo to Graaf Reinett (with a possible detour to the Gariep Dam, the largest dam in the country). This little town was declared a national monument and it is very interesting to walk the streets and visit all the beautiful museums and houses.
The sea is definitely calling, so travel to Port Elizabeth, the friendly city. You can visit the city, its beaches and the Dolphinarium.
Continue via the Tsitskamma National Park (where you cross the Storms River bridge) to Plettenberg Bay on the South Coast.
Travel via Knysna (with its magnificent lagoon) to Oudtshoorn well known for its ostrich farms, the Cango caves are also worth a visit.
Your journey takes you via Mossel Bay and Swellendam (possible detour to Cape Agulhas - 2 nights - the southern-most tip of the African continent) to Cape Town where you will stay for 4 days. Leave Cape Town for Kimberley(diamond city). Return to Johannesburg.
Alternatively you can fly from Durban to Port Elizabeth (4 days shorter) or fly back from Cape Town (3 days shorter).
