“A world in one country…” South Africa’s slogan really comes true :
A country with a tropical coast, majestic mountains, desert, savannah, vineyards, inland rural villages, modern cities, Zulu huts as well as skyscrapers. At the same time a European atmosphere and really Africa, modern and wonderfully primitive.
A self drive holiday is truly one of the best ways to explore and experience this remarkable country.
Being an immigrant to South Africa myself, I still remember how I was struck by its absolute beauty and its diversity. I am certain that you will also appreciate the open spaces, the beautiful forests in the East of the Country on the way to the Kruger Park or a private game lodge; the amazing views at The Blyde River Canyon; the tremendous array of wildlife and birdlife. Then there is the completely different and amazing beauty of the Garden Route along the southern Cape Coast.
We must also remember that we are in Africa and the atmosphere “while on safari” is a must to experience. After exploring all this I recommend ending your journey in Cape Town – the beautiful cape that gives everyone something special to visit – be it the Mountain, an exhilarating boat trip on the Ocean, a visit to Robbeneiland (of historical importance), a visit to the Cape The Good Hope and Chapmanspeak for dramatic ocean views, or a relaxing drive alomng the wine route.
Everyone will find something they love and you will definitely want to return.
To explore such a country – and a huge country for that matter – can easily be done by car and/or plane. A well developed road system will get you anywhere – at your own pace !
Cities, beaches, game reserves… our hotel selection takes all of this into consideration.
The climate is moderate. In Summer (October to March) South Africa is warm and sometimes rainy in the North; in Winter (April to September) it is pleasant and sunny, sometimes rainy in the South, cool at night.
Because of the low value of the South African Rand this dream trip can be good value for money. A definitive advantage not to be overlooked.
